Mama-made: Pants for Mr. O

I usually sew at night once the kids are asleep and hubby is watching a sport's match or some scary series (like The Walking Dead!), but I've been super tired lately come night time and the weekends have been very busy. I managed to sew up three pairs of pants for Owen though, so I'm slowly progressing with the kids' winter wardrobe. Sadly, it seems like there won't be much more to sew as they already have a few hand-me-downs from beloved friends and some stuff that I bought last year during winter sales before I could sew. Aaawwww, I'll have to find other precious little people to sew for!

I bought the patterns for these pants off Etsy, my new favorite e-browsing spot! The cream-beige and black and white arrow print are made from the Maxaloon pattern and the striped one from the Monsterbunz pattern. My hubby thinks the pattern names are silly, I think they are cute silly. By the way I created the arrows print with a Sharpie permanent marker. I'm sure it will fade over time, but it's set on the fabric, it doesn't "bleed" or "run".

I have no idea what that white stuff on the waist and bum of the pants is, maybe I had flour on my hands while carrying him?

Mama-made: Pyjamas for the little Miss

Winter wardrobe sewing for the kiddies is going so well. I've managed to make three pajama sets for Olivia. I think I'll make one or two more sets if time allows me to do so.

Whhheeewww, getting Miss O to model these for me was quite a mission! I had to do some bribing with the dummy.

Mama-made: Stripey-stripey outfit

I am on a mission this year to sew most of my kids' clothes for the coming autumn/winter season. Even with the very limited time I seem to have these days, I must say I am pretty impressed with what I've been managing to do. I "steal" a few minutes here and there to whip up some cute little garments!

This outfit is made from a stretch cotton material so it's very cosy and comfy for an active little "almost crawler". And the roomy "bum-bum" pants are a bonus for cloth nappies. It took me about 3 hours total to complete this outfit, from cutting out the pattern to sewing it up. The fabric cost me less than R10! Scratch bins are the best for fabric bargains!

I think he likes his new outfit too!

And there goes the "almost crawler"!

4/45 and 5/52

The days (and nights!) have been so busy lately it seems like there is never enough hours in a day to do all the wonderful things that I love doing. As a result the weekly portrait project has also taken a bit of a backseat but I am determined to complete it this year so here's some catching up with the past two weeks' photos.

Olivia: Playing dress up with your "chrischris" hat
Owen: Funny boy, funny face, smiley cloud

Olivia: "Too big" for a dummy, too little to care.
Owen: Wakey, wakey sleepy head.
