"A portrait of my babies, once a week, every week, in 2014"

Olivia: Whenever we get ready to leave the house you hurriedly start collecting various special items you want with you. Yep, you got that from your mama! As the house alarm starts ticking, I rush around the house looking for my keys, phone, bag, shoes, etc! You are such a mimica. It's adorable, except when we are in a rush and you fight over taking something silly like your table or chair!

Love,
Mama

"A portrait of my babies, once a week, every week, in 2014"

Olivia: Your relationship with your doll and stroller is an interesting and fascinating one. One minute you are happily "comforting" your baba to sleep and kissing her all over, next minute you are frustrated and screaming because her legs won't bend into the position you would like them to! And the stroller, your nqoko as you call it, brings you the greatest joy out of all of your toys, as well as the most violent of outbursts of anger and frustration when you try to squeeze it into impossibly small spaces!

"Baby Boy": Your big sis is enthusiastically preparing for your arrival! Whenever she finds one of your tiny pieces of clothing it goes straight onto her ironing board. I have a strong suspicion though, that she thinks your clothes belong to her baba. You don't mind sharing, do you?

Love,
Mama

Popsicle and smoothie diaries 1: Greek yoghurt, chocolate spread and banana popsicle

What could be yummier than a cold and refreshing snack on a hot summer day. Olivia and I LOVE smoothies and popsicles, from the healthiest of concoctions to naughty, creamy indulgences! I usually use whatever is left over from smoothie mixtures I've prepared to make popsicles by freezing it in popsicle molds.

This recipe worked better as frozen popsicles than smoothies. We both devoured our snack so fast I could have gone for seconds, but little Miss O would have wanted more too!

Try it, it is divine! You can substitute the creamy Greek yoghurt with a healthier version of yoghurt if you are counting calories!

Creamy Greek Yoghurt, Chocolate Spread and Banana Popsicles

Ingredients
1 ripe banana
1 cup double cream greek yoghurt (mmm)
2 tablespoons (or more) of chocolate spread like Nutellla
1 teaspoon vanilla extract/essence
2 tablespoons honey

Directions
Mash the banana then mix in all the ingredients.
Pour mixture into popsicle molds and freeze.
Enjoy!

A portrait of my babies, once a week, every week, in 2014

Olivia: I've never seen anyone fiercely attack and devour a dry slice of bread like you did today! You must have missed South African bread.

Baby Boy: Your tiny little feet have been very busy this week, kicking and poking Mama, especially when she's trying to sleep!

And extra one that was too cute not to share!

Olivia: That intense look of concentration can only mean one thing...You are watching Barney on Mama's computer!

"Baby boy": In about 11 weeks we'll get to hold you in our arms. Hopefully your Mama and Daddy will have decided on a name for you by then!
