A happy bunny for a beautiful one month old boy

Owen is ONE MONTH OLD!

Likes:
Being held and cuddled
A nice warm bath
Milk! Milk! Milk!

Dislikes:
Being put down on the cot
Being taken out of the bath
Dummies
Sleep :-(

I started making this bunny in 2012 to sell at a Christmas market, but it became evident that it would take a while to finish and it would not be worth it to sell unless I charged for the endless hours I spent on it. So it joined my many unfinished projects on the "shelf" and sat there for more than a year!

I picked it up a few days ago and felt inspired to complete it as a gift for beautiful Owen. It took me hours and hours to complete, but I am so happy with the finished product. Olivia loves it, she thinks it's for her :-)

Mama-Made: Angel Wings Pinafore

This sweet crochet pinafore was such a delight to make! A relatively easy project for a beginner to intermediate crocheter. I finished it in one day and I am thrilled with the result. The original pattern (found here) is written for size 0-3 months. Even though I have no idea how to alter crochet patterns, I took a chance and used a much thicker wool and a bigger hook and it fits Olivia perfectly with some room to grow.

Baby blanket make-over

I used a simple crochet border and flower to turn a plain white baby blanket into a pretty girly blanket for a friend's baby. (I'm still looking for inspiration to make something for my boy!)

P.S. The border was my own pattern, but the flower was one that I got off the internet. I've lost the link to the original website but I'll post it as soon as I find it.

Project "Finish it up!"

It's no secret that I love crochet. When my awesome hubby bought me a couple of crochet books while I was pregnant with Olivia I was thrilled at all the little garments I could potentially create. I instantly fell in love with this dress and early this year I embarked on making it for Olivia. Along the way I realised that it was going to turn out massive, probably a size 4-5 years. I meant to fix it, but never got around to doing so and to be honest after procrastinating for months I had lost all inspiration to carry on with this dress. Today I felt inspired to pick up the piece that I had crocheted so far and create something from it. And voila....a super cute, super funky scarf/cowl for Miss O in literally 10 minutes! Man, she looks so adorable in it and the unexpected bonus is that it doesn't seem to bother her, she had it on for the whole afternoon and seemed very comfortable.

I love the feeling of "finishing up" a project!

Baby girl crochet sandals

I've always wanted to try make a pair of cute crochet sandals for Olivia. I was so stoked when I stumbled across a very easy to follow, free pattern by Naomi from Lovely Little Life. I am pretty happy with how cute and adorable these sandals turned out. Olivia is not so happy though as she almost cannot stand any kind of shoes on her feet! She pulls them out within minutes if not seconds of having them on. Oh well, they'll make a pretty addition to her "made by mama with love" collection.

Every little girl deserves a hair bow!

I love making these crochet hair bows for two reasons; they are super easy to make and they look so adorable on little girls (and big girls too!).

I would love to put a smile on some little princess's face by giving away a set of six bows. If you are in South Africa and are a mommy to a little girl who would love and appreciate these enter the competition by emailing the name and age of your little one to worley.yolanda@gmail.com

Happy holidays!
