Mama-Made: Angel Wings Pinafore
This sweet crochet pinafore was such a delight to make! A relatively easy project for a beginner to intermediate crocheter. I finished it in one day and I am thrilled with the result. The original pattern (found here) is written for size 0-3 months. Even though I have no idea how to alter crochet patterns, I took a chance and used a much thicker wool and a bigger hook and it fits Olivia perfectly with some room to grow.

"A portrait of my babies, once a week, every week, in 2014"
Olivia: This week we celebrated two years of your beautiful life. I still remember when I held you in my arms for the first time as if it was only yesterday. I can't believe it was two years ago.
You bring us so much joy and adventure sweet little lady.
And what a happy birthday girl you were, enjoying all things sugary and forbidden and running around the yard with your equally happy and excited little friends. I'm glad you had a special day my dear, you deserve it!
Owen: It's been a challenging past two weeks for you. Very little sleep and constant pain and discomfort caused by what seems like stomach cramps. Sorry little one, we all hope you get over this stage soon.
Otherwise you have been darling, very peaceful and content.

"A portrait of my babies, once a week, every week, in 2013"
Olivia and Owen: Both of you are wearing special hand-me-downs from your cousins. Owen, you are a blessed little one, just like your sister, you received so many lovely hand-me-downs from friends and family that Mama hardly had to buy any new clothes for you.
Olivia I was explaining to you as I dressed you that the pretty dress was from your cousin Sarah and you responded, "Oh, not Ryan, not John." (your other cousins) Funny girl!

Parenting two "littlies": Some days are good and some are not.
Monday was my first day caring for my two little ones all on my own. I expected it to be hectic, but it turned out to be a beautiful day filled with sweet, joyful memories. Olivia was an absolute cutie-pie, hosting tea parties for Owen and I, helping Mama with nappy changes, no nagging for Barney or cookies, she was an absolute angel in every possible way. Owen was calm and content, stayed up to enjoy his big sister's tea party and entertainment and that was just enough stimulation to get him down for good long naps.
Yesterday on the other hand was the total opposite! Filled with tantrums, nagging, overtired little ones who were both fighting sleep and a frustrated Mama who lost her patience several times throughout the day. As if that was not enough, the night was equally bad with little Owen up from 10pm to 4am! Oh the joys!
BUT, today is a new day with new possibilities, new adventures to be enjoyed and new memories to be made.
I'm glad I had my camera close-by to capture Monday's joyful memories.

Olivia: I love this picture of you so much. In it I see a beautiful baby blossoming into a little girl.
Owen: 10 years later, you are wearing a special outfit passed down to you from your cousin Ryan. Indeed, thank heaven for little boys.

"A portrait of my babies, once a week, every week, in 2014"
Olivia: Your first week of being a big sister has been filled with such precious and blissful moments, you call his name so sweetly "Baby Owen", you shower him with hugs and kisses and you want to share your tea with him. Challenging moments have not been absent either, hence limits on Barney time have been stretched and extra long cuddles are needed to get you to sleep. Right now we are choosing our battles, we will deal with any consequences later!
Owen: The first day of week fourteen, you made your way out of Mama's belly into the world of love. Welcome beautiful baby boy, Owen Luthando Worley, warrior of love.

Olivia: You took off your clothes, put on sunglasses and started singing and dancing as you ironed your clothes. Your growing personality, with little traces of spunk, surprises me everyday little Miss O.
"Baby Boy": Mama joined your big sis, hoping I could dance you out of my belly, but week thirteen ended with no "Baby Boy". :-)
